As part of the Baroque Music Festival on the theme of "Handel the European", the Monflanquin Baroque Evenings have teamed up with the Monflanquin Town Hall to offer an open-air screening of Gérard Corbiau's film Farinelli.
This is the story of a voice whose reputation, from 1728 onwards, spread throughout Europe, astonishing musicians such as Handel, astonishing the most jaded of court officials with its exceptional range, and often driving the women who heard it to a kind of ecstasy. This is the voice of the great castrato Carlo Broschi, known as "Farinelli".
Running time: 1h50
Withdrawal to the Salle des Consuls, weather permitting.
